Lol, I just updated my rig. 2 twin 670 FTW and a 3770k. I was still stuck in 3rd generation because of the prices. I decided to treat myself this year though and get a 58003d and a 6800xt. I am not planning to upgrade again until this gpu and cpu can't reach playability with frame gen and fsr.

I still use an ASUS STRIX 970.. I upgraded my PC at the nmend of 2021 beginning of 2022.. I just ordered an ASUS TUF RX 7900 TX OC.. Finally the 970 can rest 🫡🫡🫡

Plenty on the market today. Lowest is $950.00 As the RTX rolls out, looking for this one to slide to low $800's, then I'll be interested unless the 384 bit bus of the RTX5080 is a game changer. Then I will buy the 5080. But if performance is as from 4080 t0 4080 Super why pay more? The 7900xtx looks interesting, but loses appeal as I look at 4k, even in 1440 the RTX is better by just a bit.

I want to play all new games to come without any issue so i bought a 4070 Super. Not planning to upgrade anytime soon. If i can give any advise save money and spoil yourself with a nice GPU of your choice regardless of what others think, it's your money you did the hard yards for it.

No good games worth upgrading my PC to play and the few ones that are I can play on PS5, like Jedi Survivor

Am using a geforce 1060 6gb here launched in 2016 and still plays the latest games smoothly. I drive in ATS and ETS2 at the moment . I also play forza games and F122 wreckfest assetto corsa

just upgraded from i5 6600k/R9 390 to a 7800x3D/4080 SUPER two days ago and it has been life changing graphics look so good. it took 8 years like the title said

Very missleading video! Turning E-Cores OFF on my 13700f helped with stutters\lags in MANY GAMES. Now its smoother than ever with this CPU. I was struggling for some long time since i bought this nonesense of a cpu. Now atleast i can play games and also work in windows with much smoother experience before i buy next generation amd cpu. Im done with intel.

95% of the time I’m at a solid 60fps. Whenever there’s a stutter it’s always because cpu cores 2&6 are being hammered to 100% while the remaining cores are under-utilized.

Yeah, my 1050 ti is still going. Not strong, not even moderate, but it IS still going.... And given my backlog full of old and indie games, and all the "retro" indie games and remasters still coming out, that's good enough. Anything with UE5 under the hood is a lost cause of course. BTW, calling the 1070 "a mid range card for 2016" is like calling the 4080 "a mid range card from 2023". A tier below the top-of-the-top is hardly "mid range".

Got myself a used rx6800 xt for the same price as 4060. It made 4060, 4060 ti, and rx7800xt ridiculous in comparison, and i dont see myself paying twice the amount of money i pay for this used card to get 10 to 20% better performance (excluding rt and fg) for 4070 to 4070 ti super. Honestly 40 series and 7000 series isnt worth upgrading to, i think ill wait for rtx 5k series or maybe rx8k series

Naah graphic cards from 7-8y ago age exactly as fast as those from 12y ago. Main difference in the market is that the crypto boom lead to a lot of higher specs graphic cards being produced 5-8y ago and significant part of them went back into the secondary market which made old cards really cheap. Combine that with Nvidia price hikes and you get a steep divide that the users have little incentive to cross. Ahh yes and also you're right about many gamers being satisfied with older/existing titles and being unimpressed with new ones. The wokeness in new titles doesn't help that either similar to how Hollywood isn't impressing anyone much lately.

Its true, if you just care about regular gaming, you dont need a huge budget. Then manufacturers will make more affordable and usable ones. Plus once peopl reach a point they can afford one, they are way too old to think about buying one and then seem it to be a waste of money plus the economy isnt great.

Motherboards and psus too! It costs $30 to make both but charge $250+. Adding gaming and Egb and that adds another $200. Meanwhile a PlayStation is $499. Yes it does have to be this way. Ngreedia and bitcoin miners destroyed the platform

I have a 1660 in mine. I play GTA5, Wreckfest, Ace Combat, War Thunder, and many other older games. Nothing crazy.

The market (regarding GPU power, and nerfed game optimisation) is designed in a way that makes most PC gamers not quite content with their purchase, and it makes them want more. There are some people though, that are really well behaved, waiting until they need a new pc to upgrade, instead of getting the new GPU every 2 years.

Paid 2k for my 3080ti 12gb in the height of the lockdown. You better believe its going to battle on for many more years to come with the 5800x3d that its paired with till the wheels fall off.

For me the big issue is lack of 32:9 support, particularly as it is rendering the content, then covering it with black bars. Sure it’s an easy fix with flawless ultrawide but then you can’t play online.

Gaming on Linux is great. I had frame drops on Bud and Prime Radahn when they use their butterfly/pillars of light effects. everything else run smooth.
